We walked in the woods this morning with our friend Cathy Stewart, it was a kind of camera and photography shoot. Mara, also a good friend of Cathy’s, came along to guide us through the woods, I can easily get lost there but she never does. It was an especially beautiful walk in the woods, and halfway through, Cathy spotted this green grasshopper sitting on a fern.
I had my infrared camera and tried shooting (unsuccessfully) from several different angles.. With the light behind me, I took this shot which appeared mystical to me, a new way to see the world. The grasshopper was genial and patient, he waited for me to get in position and take this shot. Infrared photography helps me see the world in a different way sometimes.
