The RISSE Amazon Wish List: Rainbow Springs, Slime Art, And Buckets Of Beads

by Jon Katz
Learning Going On

The RISSE Amazon Wish List is down to four eclectic items – shaving cream for slime art (I mistakenly assumed it was for faces), beads and someĀ  Rainbow Springs, an arts and crafts festival. I will be back in Albany next week to take some more photos, to see what photos Farmaz has taken with his new camera, and to plot and scheme with Ali.

I thank you for our support. This, I believe is how we stay grounded in these unnerving times, and speak our truth and create a positive and loving and non-violent movement of protest and affirmation. We speak with our deeds, not with our Facebook posts and Twitter feeds.

You can check out the RISSE Wish List right here. I bought one batch of shaving cream, I couldn’t resist supporting slime art. Whatever that is.

Windstorm: Tin Man Down

by Jon Katz
Tin Man Down

We had a wild windstorm in our area last night, gusts above 60 mph, in the house it sounded like the Hounds Of Hell were racing through the pasture. Our barn stood up well, so did the farmhouse. Some slate tiles blew off of both of our buildings, and Ed Gulley’s Tin Man, the new symbol of the farm, was taken down by the wind.

That must have been some wind, the Tin Man, like the man who created him, is strong and formidable. We’re not sure if there is much damage, it looks like his left shoulder bore the brunt of the fall. We might need a house call from the creator, we’ll wait to move him until the ground softens up a bit. The Tin Man shall rise again.
