This is the weekend when the earth began to come alive, a return to color and light. Once I blog, I’m going out into the yard to sit and listen to Damn, Kendrick Lemar’s new rap album. Maybe with some popcorn.
Today is the true first day of Spring, temperature in the 60’s, bright sun, clear skies, we rushed over to a nursery on Saturday and got some pansies, there was nothing much lese on sale yet. Maria is unbelievably happy, she is planting seeds in pots all over the place, and the back porch, our show case, has already been transformed.
The fiber chair is back, the barn cats have taken up residence and my wife is very happy. She is a sun creature. For me, it’s the return of color and light. A sacrament.
For at least a week, no grousing about the weather is permitted in my town.
I’ve always loved this old Vermont house on Route 313 heading into Arlington, I finally remembered to stop and take a picture of it. The house has great character.
