Images, The Mansion Art Show

The Mansion Art Show

The Mansion Art Show was full of energy, artistry and appreciation. There was even some music. Alice and Madeline applaud the art show winners. Maria teaches a monthly art class at the Mansion, and the Army of Good has supplied them with art supplies that have touched off a great artistic renaissance among the residents.

I gather that they have just about used up the existing cache of art supplies, and can use some more – paint, paper, brushes, arts and crafts. If anyone wishes, they canĀ  send some to the Mansion, c/o Julie Harlin, 11 S. Union Avenue, Cambridge, N.Y., 12816.

Back To The Barn

Back To The Barn

Red had his daily morning workout today, taking the sheep out to the side pasture, and then, after awhile, bringing them back, the enthusiastic but basically useless Fate in hot pursuit. Red is slowing down a bit, and has lost most of the vision in his right eye, it is always a beautiful thing to see him work with the sheep, he is a remarkable animal.

Love Is All There Is

Love Is All There Is

Sometimes i think that when all is said and done, love is all there is, and if you don’t have it in one way or another, then there is an emptiness in the soul. The prophets call it the gift of Belovedness, and I see it every morning with Maria and her beloved donkeys. I feel it also.

Best In Show: The Mansion Art Show

by Jon Katz
Best In Show: Winnie

The Mansion held its second annual art show last night, I was privileged to be one of the judges. Winnie one Best Of Show with her beautiful watercolor of a blue flower. I loved the simplicity and emotion of it. I’ll put up some additional photos over the day.

It was a great pleasure to see this outpouring of art and hard work yesterday, Julie Harlin and the residents used the art supplies you send them very well. (They need some more). Thanks so much for your support. More later.
