Off To A Museum And Some Mexican Food. I’m Shutting Down Tomorrow (Except Maybe For A Photo Or Two)

by Jon Katz

Maria needs a museum fix; she is hungry for a dose of art. I love going to museums with her. The Williams College Museum in Massachusetts has a beautiful, quiet space for meditation. I’ll be there after a walk around the museum.

We’ll be back this afternoon, except for a good morning hello. I’m taking Sunday off, so I’ll be only book reading and photo taking. More later. We had a great brunch this morning at the local diner with Cindy and Larry Casavant (she is the goat lady, and he is the goat man).

Still life, firewood for the wood stove.

Children Of The Earth

by Jon Katz

We are all children of the earth.  We rely on the earth, and the earth relies on us. Whether the earth is beautiful, fresh, free, or arid and parched depends on our way of walking. Please touch the earth with mindfulness, joy, and concentration. The earth will heal you, and you will heal the earth.”   – Thich Nhat Hanh.

Zip ate some fresh salmon skin for breakfast this morning.  He had first dibs on Maria’s gourmet snack trek every morning, luck creatures. The donkeys and sheep got older vegetables, carrots, and egg shells. Zinnia scooped up anything that hit the ground. She does her share of vomiting at night.

Dramas Of The Farm: In The Rain, The Hens Return To The Back Porch

by Jon Katz

The Imperious Hens have hung out on the back porch for several years, avoiding the sun or the rain. Zip didn’t want them in his favorite spot, so he chased them away. The hens and Zip seem to have reached an understanding, and today, in the rain, Zip was offered hunting in the marsh (he likes rain too), and the hens took back their spot. We’ll see how Zip reacts to this when he returns.

It was nice to see them back.

Attention Credit Card Blog Donors

by Jon Katz

As of today, we’ve canceled credit card donations. The processing service was becoming prohibitively expensive, and most donors used Paypal, Venmo, or mail. That is unchanged. Their transmission fees are much smaller.

Credit card donors will receive an e-mail notifying them of the cancellation. I hope those whose credit card donations are canceled will consider re-subscribing or donating through Paypal, Venmo, or the mail: Jon Katz, Blog Support, P.O. Box  205, Cambridge, N.Y., 12816.

We need your support. Thanks.

For details, you can go to the Support The Blog site on the blog. I appreciate your support, and this money can be much better used than going to credit card transmission companies. The cost was becoming more significant than the donations.  – jon
