Rose was heading out to the pasture walking past Bartleby and mother and she got protective, and butted Rose, who was not paying attention. Rose backed off and went after the sheep in the pasture. She knows when to fight, when not to fight. Mom was just doing her job.

I choose life
Deuteronomy 30:19
“Today, I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.”
I choose life over death, life over fear. That’s what my life is about.
The Prince of Bedlam
Bartleby is figuring things out. I yelled “photoshoot” as I do with the dogs and he stood up and looked into the camera (a 70-200 mm lens) and he seemed to be posing. Animals here are all media whores, and they love the camera.
Mother and son
Mother and son stay away from Rose and the sheep when there’s herding. Then, when it’s all over they set out to look for the flock, Mother warily scanning for predators, as they are out in the open. Rose ignores the ewe and the lamb.
Field work, this morning
Rose really shines when she has some space to do her work, and the newly brushogged pasture gives her a good chance to do spectacular outruns and then bring the sheep back to the barn. Good for the photographer too, as you have a wide open field in which to shoot.
