Photography is a chance to force yourself to see the world, each day, in a new way and to look for the color and the light, always.

Saturday Sunrise. Simon. Memory
When I came out this morning, Simon was in the rear pasture, where he first came to the farm, nearĀ death, and lay for hours in the shade of the feeder. I saw him and my heart jumped a bit at the memory, and the thought that he seemed to have returned there for a reason. He saw me and gave me a joyous bray.

Saturday Sunrise. Route 30 Farm
Saturday Sunrise. Two
Loved this old farmhouse across the Valley, just as the sun was burning off the mist. An emotional photo, I think.
Saturday Sunrise. One
Abandoned farmhouse. This old farmhouse has been empty for years, but I drove by early this morning and saw these old bottles, still in the window. All the photos I took yesterday were lost due to a faulty flash card, but the lesson of photography is that there will always be another day and today Maria and I got up and she drove me out to the same road, and I think I did better. There was mist all over the hillsides, and the fields of brown had been hayed and were ready for the sun.
