Poem: When Life Starts Clapping For Me. For You.

by Jon Katz
When Life Is Clapping
When Life Is Clapping

Wherever love lives,

life starts clapping,

I brought my love a raspberry scone

today, and kissed her on her forehead,

and life clapped for me politely.

I found my voice, and spoke it to the world,

and the falling leaves in the forest

gave me a sweet round of applause,

When I laughed at fear,

and sprayed him with a bottle of misty cologne,

life clapped loudly for me,

when I saw the truth in my life,

and gave it meaning and purpose,

life gave me a standing O,

the world resounded with cheers.

I cried, and put a hand to my heart,

and blushed a crimson red,

and took a bow.

When you fall in love,

with your own life,

your own heart,

life will clap for you.

Main Street, Cambridge, Dusk

by Jon Katz
Main Street
Main Street

This was the street I first drove down when I came to Cambridge, more than 15 years ago, there was a dog lying right on the yellow lines, I pulled over and went over to see if he was all right, and he growled at me, I saw that I woke him up from his nap. He belonged to a shopkeeper across the street who said he slept there every day from noon to 2 p.m. It’s too busy for that now, but Cambridge still feels like a small town. There is the diner, the bookstore, Hubbard Hall, an artist’s co-op, the old Opera House, a realtor’s office and a bead store. I came by at dusk, last light. This is my town now, and I live here and I love it.

Testing: Back To Normal, Hopefully.

by Jon Katz
Testing
Testing

There’s been a lot of blog and mobile app excitement in the past 24 hours, technical issues affecting what people see (or don’t see) on smartphones and tablets and laptops, then this morning server issues affecting the blog itself. I think we’re out of it, and this is a test to see how my posting is going, it looks good on this end. I’m going to New Jersey Friday and Saturday for my Ted Talk videotaping, returning Sunday. Better this happened now than next week when Second Chance Dog: A Love Story comes out (on Tuesday.) Connie Brooks says there are more than 400 pre-orders, we are heading for 500.

Glad to have the blog back up to speed, hopefully what you are seeing on your phones and tablets is back to normal.
