Simon’s Passage

Simon’s Passage

Simon is a spirit animal, which means, at least to me, that he has finished his work her and has moved on to stir up the life of another family or human being. I see Simon with kids – he loved children – and with another strange man to walk around with. I see him getting lots of apples and carrots. I see him ratting  barn roofs with his call to life. I miss Simon, I celebrate his life with me, nothing but a gift.

Into The Whirlwind: A Drooling Mess.

Into The Whirlwind

I will be honest, I am brought to my knees by  a cold or a flu, a high fever, racking cough, dizziness, aches and spasms. Maria is also sick, although her fever seems to be breaking sometimes. The kindly Deb Foster, our friend and petsitter, simply appears at morning and evening feeding times, she does not wait to be asked. We keep telling her we can handle it, but she seems to know we can’t, or at least I can’t.

I can’t really recall being so sick in a long. The nurses say I have to go into an emergency center and get checked if it doesn’t break shortly, too close to open heart surgery, I am resisting this.  I expect to get better shortly. I don’t think I ever recall not being able to blog, but I I am out of gas and just have to own up to it. Even my camera  seems too heavy to lift. One of the many interesting things we brought back from Disney World. We take turns caring for one another, she drove me to the health center to get some cough medicine, I’m cooking for her.

Yuk. Lots of people have the flu and colds, airplanes and crowded amusement parks are a good place to get it, usually it’s too cold for germs to live up here. I have to be better by Sunday, it is first rehearsal for “Last Day Of A Dairy Farm,” my play. I will certainly be there. Checking out for now, a  drooling, disoriented mess.
