I gave Rose the news yesterday – I talked with farmer and friend Darryl Kuehne and we agreed that his sheep will begin their summer stay on Bedlam Farm in the next week or so. We’ll start with four or five. More will follow and stay her until October. Rose will be happy, and so will my video camera.

I told Rose and her response was touching. She looked all over the pasture and then rushed up to the Pole Barn where the sheep hang out to begin her patrol. You can see her response for yourself. Pure Rose. This is a dog with focus and an amazing work ethic.

While we were out, Maria came up to give the donkeys their afternoon hay and some Donkey Love, and juxtaposition of the two – Rose revealing herself and her focus in a very appealing way – and the donkeys amazing connection to Maria – made for a film that is to me, a meditation more than a movie. It made me feel good to look at it, and I hope it makes others feel good as well.
