Pig Barn Art Show at Bedlam Farm: June 4-5

by Jon Katz
Pig Barn Art Gallery

The first Pig Barn Art Gallery Show will be on June 4-5, 11 to 4 p.m. Called “Art Of The Everday,” it will be Maria’s first show in the new gallery, the restored Pig Barn at Bedlam Farm. Weather permitting, Rose will push the sheep around each day at 3 p.m.

Maria decided last year to curate a series of art shows from the Pig Barn and the first show, exploring the use of everyday objects as art – quilts, sketches, paintings, gourds, sculptures and some photos – will kick off the old Pig Barn as a high-tone art gallery, quite a trip for a building where pigs were slaughtered (the old stone cauldron foundation is still there). The artists are Maria, Jack Metzger, Diane Swanson, Serena Kovalosky and me.  Their art will be shown in the Pig Barn and sold. The public is welcome. An artists reception will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. More details on Maria’s website.
