Northeaster. Three. Love and Life

Northeaster. Three

I have always loved storms. Storm Center takes the mystery out of them, and also turns them into something frightening. Heavy snow predicted for the farm and the area, but you can’t do better than have Jessica and Chris Barrett watching the farm. He plows us out in the winter and she brought us Simon. The farm is in good hands, and another day here will force some rest, which is needed, and some time for reading, which is wanted.

And how wonderful to share this, as always, with Maria, my love and my life. Watching her tear through Thrift Shops in search of tomorrow’s quilts and pills is very heartwarming and uplifting. She goes into a fever, grabbing stuff, sorting it through it, rejecting some. Birth of art, I think, birth of an artist. How lucky am I. The wind is howling now and sheets of rain driving against the windows. I have met a new dog, Baxley, serving as my writing dog.
