Socks was the most fearful of Maria’s Border Leicester wool sheep. The breed is beautiful, but notoriously skittish around people and dogs. Socks would panic at the sight of Red, throw herself against the fence of the barn. So Maria has been working on trust, communication, listening. Socks would not allow Maria to come near her for weeks. Maria brings her grain every day, talks to her calmly, easily.
