Baptist Tent Revival. Me And Roy Orbison

Me And Roy Orbison

Saturday mid-day. Maria and I just got our hair cut and rode around the country a bit, willingly getting lost so we could doodle through some country roads. I came back and did some sheepherding with Red and then took a photo of one of my favorite signs, my Baptist Tent Revival sign. It always makes me feel hopeful, pointing dutifully, as Baptists do, to faith and duty and hope. I am listening to Roy Orbison, one of my most favorite singers. Right now, he’s singing “Cry Over You,” in his evocative and soaring and sometimes falsetto voice. And it seems to go with the sign.

In an hour, the last appearance of the “Dancing Dogs” book tour at Gardenworks in Salem.  It’s not really part of the book tour, which ended yesterday in Wilmington, Vt., just something I agreed to do locally.

Maria is putting up the curtains for my study, and then we will be finished with our work on the house for the winter. I feel these last few months have been among the most important in a long time.
