Dogs In The Sun: Pack Animals

Pack Animals

In the afternoon, the dogs gather together on a cold day and catch the sun coming in from the window. We forget sometimes that dogs are pack animals, and often I will find all three of them crowded together in a corner of my study or in the light. These three re easier together than any pack of dogs I have had, there is no tension between them of any kind. Given snacks and bones, they will curl up next to one another and crunch away. Lenore, I think, sets the tone for this. She is always relaxing the other dogs, challenging them to play, curling up next to them. She is fearless in her own way, and even got Frieda to loosen up. Still, it is rare to catch the three of them in a line narrow enough for the camera, and I rarely have the right lens on. Got it today.
