Mud Dog: Life Of A Lab

Life Of A Lab
Life Of A Lab

Spring is a good thing in the life of a Lab. Labs are all about love, food and finding disgusting things to eat, roll in and get mucky about. The more revolting the food, the better, the muddier, wetter and stinkier, joy, joy, joy. We went on a new path in the woods today, a beautiful path which we love, and Lenore romped around a bit and found her mud pond. First hosing down of the season, and we just vacuumed the house today. This is the life of a Lab. At one reason, somebody complained that their Lab was digging holes in the garden, what should they do? If you don’t want holes in your lawn I said, do not get a Lab. Labs love life. When they were first bred in Newfoundland (not Labrador), they hauled fish from the fishermen’s boats. Fishermen did not believe in dog food or feeding their Labs, so the dogs became inventive about eating dead fish, garbage and other offal.

They have a wondrous taste for garbage and muck today. Let dogs be dogs.
