Frieda’s Time

It is time for Frieda’s remarkable story to be told, and on November 12, “Second Chance Dog: A Love Story” will be published by Ballantine/Random House and she will have her moment in the sun. Frieda has had an amazing life, several books worth, and I have been lucky enough to research and recreate and write. I can tell the story of her hard time as a guard dog in an upstate New York town, her abandonment in the Adirondacks, her saving a family from a fire, her adoption by Maria, and the great role she played in our coming together.

The book chronicles the story of two people and a dog who all got a second chance at life. If you wish to pre-order the book from Battenkill Books, my local bookstore (or call them at 518 677-2515), Maria and I will personalize it and you will be eligible to win a free bag of dog food (we are giving away 100, a free book and some printed and matted photos of Minnie and her hen friends.

The book is already in it’s second printing, I am organizing a slam-bag online book tour, podcasts, videos and give-a-ways to come. I am hoping to bring Frieda to the book launch reading at Battenkill Books at 7 p.m., on November 12. Interviews begin next Monday, Ted Talk taping next Saturday. Here we go again.
