It’s bitter cold, windy and the ground is covered with ice and snow, I look at this photo often to bring a sense of warmth and timelessness into my head. My Maria photos are, of course, among my favorite, there is something out of experience about them, they could be taken anywhere, at any time in any place, they evoke connection and mystery, they seem to come out of fiction, not out of my life. Life can be so beautiful, so evocative, if I let it, if I am open to it.
