(Miss Lenore, the Hound Of Love, is eight years old, but always a puppy, the sweetest, most loving creature I have known. She kept love alive for me until I found the real thing)

So this morning, off to New York. This is what I mean to do there:

– See my daughter Emma. We live apart, we live very different lives, I miss her but New York City is where we connect – funky restaurants, Asian food, movies, lots of urban attitude. I hope to see a movie with her and Maria. They are much at ease with one another, alike in more than one way.

– Something new. I’m not blogging from New York, but Maria is, she might put up some of my photos from the city, we are staying in a hotel just South of Central Park. So if you are so inclined, you can follow us on this trip on her quite popular blog. She is getting lots of new readers from the book “Second Chance Dog,” that is nice. In addition to her many gifts, Maria has become a skilled and authentic writer. She will be sketching in NYC.

– Museums. MOMA, the Frick, maybe the Whitney if there’s time, photo and other exhibits scouted by my daughter. Hopefully, inspiration and then, more inspiration.

– Encounter. I am seeing Jesse Dailey, my good friend and the subject of my book “Geeks.” He has been arrested and charged with groping teenage girls and some other things, he says he is innocent and I believe him, it will be good to see him for the first time in some years. Jesse is tough and determined and worthy, he will come out the other side. He and Maria have never met, and I am also going to meet his girlfriend and partner.

– Walking. Maria and I love to walk around New York, it will be cold but balmy compared to this week up here. I am bring my 35 mm lens, I hope to catch some images of New York. I love New York, it has so much energy.

– See a play. We are going to see at least one play in New York, TBA.

– The Central Park Horses. In what strikes me as yet another misguided effort at protecting animals, the new mayor of New York and many others are determined to rid the city of the Central Park Horses which have been there since 1858 and replace them with “vintage electric carts.” I think it’s quite an awful idea, I hope to get a photo or two of them, they are not likely to live long if they are “saved.”

– Eat good stuff: Dim Sum, Thai Food, seafood.

– Rest with my woman, we have wonderful fun no matter where we go. I am lucky. The blog will be quiet until Saturday, Maria is packing up her computer, I might put a photo or two up on her blog if she lets me.
