Learning To Have Fun

Learning To Have Fun

Maria and I love to have fun, but we are not always sure how to do it. Disney World is a good place to sort it out. We are both obsessive and work-centered people, we both get very twitchy when we are not doing our creative work. I think we started to have fun this morning. When Maria wasn’t looking, I gestured to the African dancer to choose her for the dancing line. She loves to dance.

He winked back and he did choose her and she warmed the place up pretty good. The tables were turned in Asia when she did the same to me with Indian dancers and I ended up dancing. It was a turning point, I think for both of us, we began to loosen up. laugh and have fun. Tomorrow we are determined to do nothing but read and talk and relax. I have three blisters to show for the 13 miles of walking we have done in two days and my legs are giving me little choice but to relax. Might be what I need.

I suppose it is not surprising that we are drawn to the Animal Kingdom Park. The safari ride there has finally dropped all of the dumb sophomoric banter and concentrated on telling people about the lives of the fascinating animals they have there, and Maria and I spent three hours walking on some of the out of the way paths there. We want to go back there this week, it is a fascinating place and Disney seems to have real and deep respect for the animals they have there.

I think I may be done with the Magic Kingdom, it seems to be devouring itself with plush ties and cross-marketing rides and promotions. Gave me a headache, and I used to love wandering around there. I have some stuff to write about Disney and the technology here, we both vowed to try and truly separate ourselves from our tired and drained mindset. We felt guilty for a few minutes about leaving the dogs and farm animals behind in such bitter cold, then we said the hell with that, let’s just relax.
