Fate At Work

Fate At Work

It is art to see a border collie work, and young Fate is becoming an artist out in the pasture. She is still young, still small (although the vet says she has gained five pounds in two weeks, not at 25 pounds.) She moves with grace, is  getting the directional commands, come bye, and away. I have to work on her moving straight into the sheep, on “walk up,” and on her wearing, which is walking behind the sheep moving them along.

She does not yet have the eye strength to move the sheep from a distance, but it will come. I love the way she moves around them, I love her calmness, we are starting to work as a team. Next few months are about confidence building, letting her work the sheep slowly until she has the size, stamina and eye to really control them.
