I sent Fate out to find the sheep today – “go to the sheep.” They were out in the back pasture, she found them, moved them around a  bit, sat with them. Generally, one does not leave a border collie alone with sheep. I do. Red often sits with them, Fate has started doing the same thing. In the British Isles, border collies often take the sheep out to pasture (they don’t have lots of land there), sits with them, brings them home. I love that image.
