I was invited into the Schoolhouse Studio to take a peek at the beginning of Maria’s latest creation, as yet untitled. It is a wall hanging piece, and I call it the “Fertility Goddess On Her High Horse.” Maria may well change it, of course, it is her piece, not mine.

It made me laugh and smile, it is right out of the very beautiful dreams she has been having, her dreams are a great source of inspiration for her. I see the goddess her is offering nourishment from her left breast, and I love her leggings. I love Maria’s mind and the way it works,and the way it shapes her art and sense of feminist inspiration and history. A joy to see it grow and ripen. It is not finished yet, it will go up for sale on her website when she is done.

Maria just announced that the name she is thinking of is “Jane, Goddess of Perpetual Life.” Up to her.
