The morning begins now with “touch” and “push” lessons for Chloe, our pony. Chloe is getting it, and the donkeys, in it for the carrots, are not trainable in the way horses and dogs are. Donkeys are independent and willful, they don’t perform or do tricks on demand, everything has to be their idea.

When Maria ran out of carrots, Chloe came over and gave me a “push” on my butt. I worked Red just a little bit to keep him limber and Fate did a magnificent job of running around the sheep and making them dizzy. Come and see.
