Infrared photography is about light and perspective, it is called the photography of the unseen,  because the camera sees the light in a way that is beyond the human eye, beyond our spectrum of sight.

Sometimes, looking at these photographs, I see a fusion of night and day, light and darkness, color and the diffusion of light. A new dimension, really, a new way of seeing things. The photographs seem radiant to me, very quiet. Maria says she thinks of the word “hush” when she sees them.

I’ve taken many photographs of Fate and the sheep but in this one, time seems to stand still and we see the way the true light interacts with the world around us. It asks us to see things in a different light.
