Surgery For Fate

Surgery For Fate

Fate was in great pain last night and this morning, she couldn’t put any pressure on her right paw, she went to the Cambridge Veterinary clinic and into surgery, the vet found what might be an embedded growth in between her paw pads, they can’t pinpoint the cause or the source. Might be a callous, or a splinter, they couldn’t find it.

She is knocked out know, we’ll get her in a few hours.

She’s coming home with bandages and cones and antibiotics and pain medication (stuff for worms too). At the Open House, she will not be able to run around the sheep or run at all, she can mingle with the crowds is about it. The herding show belongs to Red.

We have to keep the bandages on her for 48 hours – that will take some ingenuity and focus. I hate cones on border collies, but we have to try that for a day or so also.
