This is one of the most beautiful farms on one of the most beautiful roads on one of the most beautiful hills in the county where i live. My friend Cathy Stewart and I went up there to try and capture the feel of this very rich landscape. Once again, I was a bit surprised at the depth and field of color reflected in my new Achromat lens. I took about a dozen photos an they all were way out of focus or place, the lens decided it liked this angle, i just touched the shutter.
It did look a little like a painting to me.
I love your photos, and have been reading about your new lens. However, everything looks blurry and out of focus. Am I the only one who feels this way?
Sorry, I do not mean to be critical, it may just be me. I am having a hard time viewing and enjoying as usual.
Sue, you are, of course, being critical. It’s okay to say so. I’ll live. You are not wrong, but you are missing the point, like it or not. The idea of the lens is to have a soft focus, to create an otherworldy affect that is dreamy or magical. It’s supposed to be out of focus slightly, although it does focus on somethings. Many people like it, you don’t, there is nothing mysterious about that. It’s just not your taste, but I love it and will keep doing it from time to time. This is beautiful! It does look like a picture. So peaceful. Your farm is such a rich tapestry of life.So glad that you share your experiences with us. So much like a lovely painting of the farm country (NW Missouri) where I grew up, and now live in a nearby town. This is a very special photo.
