Every morning, Fanny and Gus find a moment to touch noses, something I have not ever seen any of my dogs do with a donkey. Most days, Gus also gives Fanny a lick on her nose. Lulu does not touch noses with Gus. These two have struck up a friendship, they are completely at ease with one another, and donkeys do not always love dogs.
Gus is just at ease here now, I did not know what to expect when we got a small dog, but it sure wasn’t that the dog would kiss one of our donkeys on the nose each morning.
It would be fun to see if Gus would like to herd ducks. They are a little more his size than the sheep are, but in some ways more challenging.
