Portrait: Loving Fate

Loving Fate

Fate was overjoyed to be part of the retreat, she is a teenager at heart and raced around with the boys for two days, she ran up and down the hill with every sled. She came home and collapsed. Next time, she’ll stay over with them, she would love it.

  1. I recently watched a public television show called My Sheepdog and Me about the efforts of the Welch sheepdog community to revitalize the breed. The dogs are bred on their herding ability and have many different physical looks. There is even a DNA test that had been developed to identify the herding trait. The dogs have different methods of herding than border collies. They don’t use the eye and are very independent. I wonder if Fate has these abilities. I was wondering what you knew about the Welsh sheepdogs and the breeders efforts to bring the breed back. It reminded me of the sled dogs from a dog sledding adventure. The dogs were bred for the characteristics that were important for running and most did not look like the Alaskan husky that I was expecting.
