Video: Bud, The Happy Dog Series

by Jon Katz

It took a lot of people a long time and a lot of hard work to bring Bud back from the dead, where the Friends Of Homeless Animals found him, bought him from his creepy owner, nursed him back to health at great expense, found a loving Fosterer in Carol Johnson, a wonderful vet and finally, me and Maria.

He came to us as a battered, serious and wary dog, you can see from this videos that he is a happy dog, sometimes overwhelmed with excitement. I took this video this morning Bud is so excited about the morning he runs up and down the stairs a half dozen times or so, usually pulling Fate, his partner in crime along.

I’ll keep showing brief videos of Happy Bud, I wasn’t sure we would get to this point. Thanks again, Carol Johnson of Arkansas, and to FOHA. This is a satisfying thing to do, as giving any dog a good life is also rewarding.

  1. Having worked in rescue I know Carol Johnson is loving this video. It is this kind of result that keeps rescuers going when they sometimes want to stop. You were the perfect adopter for Bud and it is evident in how he has come so far from where he started. It takes time and patience to make the right match and Carol certainly did with you.

  2. Stairs are a wonderful way to give dogs exercise when the weather is too awful to go outdoors! Yay, Bud and Fate and Jon.
