When we brought this farm and farmhouse, it seemed a little spare and barren. We started planting trees, bushes, restored a couple of the fading gardens. In the past few years, Maria has blossomed as a passionate gardener, the house is ringed with thriving, beautiful gardens. The trees we planted are growing as well, ringing the farmhouse with green and color.

Maria is the architect of these gardens, I water them and help plant things. She knows every flower and every plant, talks to them, moves them around, makes sure they get what they need. She planted a vegetable garden this year, already yielding fresh salads for us.

She moved a few gardens and replanted scores of flowers. It has been a powerful exercise in creativity and art, there is no separation between the artist and the life.
