Scorpio, From Blue. For Sale. $30

by Jon Katz

This painting, “Scorpio,” from the artist Blue,  is for sale for $30, plus $6 shipping. [email protected].

Blue, a senior at Bishop Maginn High School In Albany, and a proud member of the Silverstein Art Brigade at the school, finished another in her astrology series of striking water colors.

Scorpio is the constellation for people born October 23 through November 21.

I took the liberty of checking the astrology charts for Scorpio today:

Thankfully, you thrive on the mysterious, so keep ruminating on this vision until its secret is  revealed. Words fail to capture the essence of this apparition as it hovers just out of reach. A sense of longing permeates your soul.”

Sounds like Blue herself, a refugee from Myanmar. She says she is lazy. She is not.

As her authorized art agent, I’m asking $30 for this painting, plus $6 shipping. If you wish to add $10 to that,  the extra money will go to the Bishop Maginn High School School Supplies Wish List.

That is optional. Blue is a best-seller, she has only been painting for less than a year, but she has a natural gift for color and emotion and detail.

She has sold every painting that I’ve put up for sale, not a bad start for a new artist.

Sue Silverstein, her teacher, and Maria and I all believe she has great and natural talent.

If you want to buy this painting, e-mail me, [email protected] and I will send you the payment details.  The cost is $30 plus $6 shipping. The painting will be signed by Blue and  unframed. And I thank you all for the remarkable support you have given her.

It means more than you might know.

And please check out the shrinking Bishop Maginn High School Amazon Wish List while you can. We are seeking school supplies for the Fall, and the last of the computer laptops.

I am proud and delighted to report that there are only 3 items left on what was a long and substantial Bishop Maginn Wish List last week: two sets of file folders, two laptops at $200 each, and seven $25 gift cards to be send tot he school. I hope we can polish off this list, we are just about there.  The angels are wish this on the journey.

By September we hope to have a choir, a computer room, a music room, pencils and pans and paper, and a backpack on every poor refugee kid with out money for school supplies. Check out what’s left on the Bishop Maginn Amazon Wish List, gifts are tax-deductible and good for the heart and soul. j
