Dog Sharing: Please Share Your Therapy/Service Dogs Here

by Jon Katz

Red went to the vet today for his monthly acupuncture treatment, Dr. Fariello said he is losing sight, his heartbeat is weak but he otherwise looks good.

I told her he is eating, still eager to go out to the pasture, no longer able to climb into cars, struggling with stairs. As long as he is not incontinent, giving up food or treats, and wandering in confusion, I will leave him to his much-deserved retirement.

Peace to you, Red.

Red is no longer going for rides, working at the Mansion, herding sheep.

Several people suggested that we share images of our service or therapy dogs, and I think that’s a beautiful idea, these dogs do so much good, are so valued and loved, I am eager to get a look at these sweet and worthy souls.

Please share your service/therapy dogs with us.

I’m not fond of snobs, and there is no hierarchy or snootiness here, you decide who is or isn’t a service and therapy dog and please post the images, I’m afraid the only platform I have that can handle them is Facebook, on my Facebook Page. Please post them there.

The dog sharing program is free, if you wish to contribute a small amount – $1, $2, $5, $10 to the refugee students at the Bishop Maginn High School in Albany, N.Y., that would be appreciated and welcome.

But it is a request, not a requirement. Post away.

You can contribute via Paypal, [email protected] or by check, Jon Katz, Bishop Maginn Fund, P.O. Box 205, Cambridge, N.Y., 12816. I’ll use any donations to help buy winter clothes for the students who need them. There are many.
