My Homework: Honoring Red Postcards Are Available

by Jon Katz

It seems I have a lot of homework to do. After Red died, a warrior in the Army Of Good sent a $4,000 check to Bishop Maginn High School to help buy the 28 laptops we need to construct a new computer lab. She said the money was to honor Red and the good he did.

I had some postcards printed up and said I couldn’t think of a better way to honor Red than to donate so that the students at Bishop Maginn could have warm clothes and shoes for the winter, and so that we could help with tuition costs for the neediest children.

I got a lot of donations in honor of Red, and tonight, I will begin addressing and signing them and mailing them out. This was a wonderful tribute to a wonderful dog, and I wanted to let people know that I have more cards left, nearly 100, and the offer still stands.

All money goes to honor Red’s therapy work and to buy sweatshirts, boots, jackets, and scarves from the Bishop Maginn students who need them. Some of the money will also go directly towards our efforts to raise $30,500 over the next six months to help eight students pay some or all of their tuition.

Everyone will get a signed postcard of me and Red, as long as they last. If the demand is great, I will print up more. I can’t honestly think of a better way to honor and remember Red.

If for some reason you don’t get a postcard, please let me know: [email protected]. It was pretty hectic around here.

If you want to contribute and get a postcard, or if you just want to contribute, you can do so in any amount via Paypal, [email protected] or by check, Jon Katz, Honor Red Fund, P.O.  Box 205, Cambridge, N.Y., 12816.

I’ve got a lot of postcards to send out tonight, it is a labor of joy and honor. Thanks
