I went outside with my iPhone 11 to try out its vaunted “Night Vision” option. It was a very dark night and I’m not sure, but I think the moon was behind me. When I took the photo, it was pitch dark.

When I uploaded it to the computer and I saw it, the barn lights were on. I didn’t see any barn lights on, I didn’t turn them on or off, and I know they were off when I got outside because I wanted to test the “Night Vision” mode in the dark. I don’t really believe in ghosts so I asked Maria if she had gone outside and was in the barn.

She said she hadn’t been outside for hours, and then I thought this must be an older picture, perhaps taken on the night of the Winter Solstice. But I checked the date on the information button on Lightroom, and it said the photo was taken at 8:58 tonight, which is when I went outside.

The light switches are inside of the barn, they are not very visible.

I got creeped out because I thought the camera image caught someone or something moving inside, but I’m just not sure. So I don’t know what happened, I’m just going to let it go.

I just went to the living room window, and it was black outside, no lights on in the barn.

I accept that there are things that just happen in the world that I know nothing about and cannot begin to understand. Then I move on. I’m taking antibiotics for a sinus infection, which is what my sickness has turned out to be, I think.

Perhaps I’m just seeing things.
