Maria calls them “the Jon Katz Fan Club,” they are all gathered and waiting for me when I step out of the shower. They hang out by the treat drawer, which they have come to know and love.
They are patient, quiet, and focused. If necessary, they will sit quietly while I go upstairs and get dressed, they will be in the same spot when I return.
One snack in the morning, one at lunch, one before bedtime, all small, low-cal, natural and healthy.
There is no quicker way to get a dog’s love than to have a treat drawer. I always made them sit and stay by the treat drawer, not they do it automatically. It’s nice to have a fan club in the morning.
We have a treat cabinet! When my lab was alive she whould show mw where the treats were when i asked her! Now i have a cat that does the same thing! Just my way of showing love!!
