Wednesday Morning

by Jon Katz

My idea of photography is that I take pictures of things that touch me, whether they are typical subjects of photographs or not. It’s not what the camera sees, it’s what I see.

I caught the morning light coming through this tissue, and it was a beautiful picture to me, especially when some red in the background.

I got up early and walked up a mild slope to test my new heart artery and for the first time, there was no angina at all, no dicomfort. This afternoon, I’ll start walking in the woods with Maria again.

In one month, we’ll do it again, we’ll open up a third artery that has been closed for years and my heart will have lots of blood to power me along.  That will be a bigger deal, but a good one.

It is exciting, I feel lucky and can’t wait to get back on my bike.

First, got to see my nurse practitioner, who suggested my insulin experiments were kind of stupid. We’ll figure it out. Later. I peeked into the GOP convention last night, too much bullshit for my heart to stand. Lies and misdemeanors.
