A Two Therapy Dog Night

by Jon Katz

I got cosseted and fussed over for much of the weekend, which is nice, but I know my time to be catered to is running short.  My wife does not have a long attention span.

And after all, I wasn’t hurt when my car slid off the road and into a ditch.

Last night, Maria was still taking pity on me; she brought me dinner while sitting in a dining room chair reading in front of a lovely wood stove fire.

The dogs are coddling to me as well. Fate isn’t interested in therapy work, but Zinnia and Bud were into it; they covered me like a blanket last night, which felt good.

In the afternoon, I went to see the car and gave it a kiss. In a way, it saved me by hanging off of those rocks.
