Fate Tries To Herd Robin. He Is Not Impressed

by Jon Katz

Poor Fate. Every now and then she decides to be a real border collie and herd a sheep, especially if it’s small and harmless. Robin’s birth seems to have awakened some primal herding gene in Fate, who comes from a champion herding line in Wales, but who is averse to pushing sheep around.

She stalks Robin like a champ, following him, circling him, giving him the border collie eye. The only problem is that Robin, like all of our sheep, pays Fate no attention at all.

For a moment, I dared to think something latent or dormant in Fate was coming to life, but Robin just yawned and looked right past her. I warned myself to dare not hope.

Fate seems to having great fun acting like a border collie when she’s near Robin.

And I sure loved this image, it says a lot about Robin and a lot about Fate.
