The Angel’s Glow

by Jon Katz

I rescued this angel from a trash can a year ago, and I’ve not been able to find her for some time. The other day, I was walking by the woodshed window and saw her sandwich between some legs. She looked dark, dirty, and forgotten. I couldn’t quite reach her to clean her.

Today, walking by the woodshed, I saw this white and glowing figure in the window. It was the angel. I might be going mad, or just delusional, but she was several times whiter than the other day. I couldn’t miss her, she absolutely glowed.

It certainly looked as if she was aglow. Maria said she didn’t even know I had spotted her again.

The possibilities are that I am imagining things, or that I have awakened a spirit in her and she is reaching out to me. I’m happy to have found my angel again, and sometimes, I think I just have to forget things and not try to interpret them.

Of course, angels can do whatever they wish.

More and more, I cherish the idea of acceptance. Accept it and let it go.
