The White Hen Keeps Her Cool. The Wool Go To The Knitting Mill Tomorrow

by Jon Katz

We’ll be boiling through Sunday, but the White Hen keeps her cool and knows how to stay out of the mid-day sun. Her favorite spots are the hollow in the apple tree, beneath my garden beds, and underneath the chairs in the yard.

Tomorrow, Maria and I are taking our wool to the Vermont Knitting Mill; we’ll be gone in the morning, just after lunch. I’m staying out of the Sun until Monday. But it’s good blogging weather; my window air conditioner is heroic. I’m writing a review of a book I read this week – Thank You for Your Servitude by Mark Leibovich, the former National Political Correspondent of the New York Times. I read it to be somewhat prepared for the January 6 hearings last night.
