Happy Thanksgiving: Color And Light, As Promised.

by Jon Katz

Happy Thanksgiving. I wish you everything you want and hope for, and I wish you peace and compassion. Color and light help, I think.

I’m the Thanksgiving planner this year. We are both staying home together. We are both sleeping late and committed to a day of love and connection. Some reading and silence, too. We don’t have the families we were born with, but we do have family – one another. I couldn’t do better than that.

We’ll have Thanksgiving dinner around 3-4 p.m. My menu is lobster tail, salad, and some jumbo crab lumps. I might put up a photo or two, but that’s all. We will talk about gratitude.

  1. Just FYI, you’re not making lobster tails. What you show in your picture is lobster meat predominantly from claws. Happt T Day!

    1. Bernard you have no idea what you are talking about, if that bothers and it should read Larry’s message below and the think about minding your own business. Yes they are lobster and I should nonexistent paid a lot of money for them and didn’t see you at the store or dinner. As my friend Julz would say you are blowing it out of your ass. Please go somewhere else.

  2. I love what you said about not having the family you were born with, you have the family you’ve made; that’s even better, I believe. The family I have made I don’t have to endure – I get to be with them, enjoy them, love them and feel like I belong. Not that there won’t be some drama with the family I have made – it’s just different, and I am able to take it all in stride and not feel as though I am under fire. There will be some children here today, and a bunch of dogs. If it gets to be too much, my friends know me and love me and know that I will take a time out if I need one. I hope that you and Maria have a wonderful day together. Thank you both for sharing your lives and love with us.
