Bedlam Farm Journal. Out Of Touch Until Morning. Some Photos For Now.

On warm days, Zip is heat-sensitive; he sleeps under a chair.

We have a small import just down the road. We walked together and watched the planes take off and land. I’d love to take a ride one day.

  1. I hope you get to take a ride in a small plane like that one in the photo. For around seven years I was a hospice nurse serving five island communities off the coast of Maine. Sometimes I traveled by ferry, but often I would get to some of the islands in a single-engine plane. Over the years I did over 1,000 flights to the islands. Flying in a small plane is so much more enjoyable than flying in a passenger jet. I hope you get to do it.

  2. Please do make a date to go up in a small plane. It’s an education to see the landscape from a low altitude. When I was 19, my then boyfriend took flying lessons and I was allowed to ride in the back of the small Cessna during his lessons. (That probably would never be allowed now.) I was so intrigued. Make sure you do it.
