Maria’s Magnet: “I Have The Right To Be Happy…” Now For Sale On Her Etsy Page

by Jon Katz

A few months ago, I wrote in one of my spiritual musings, “I Have The Right To Be Happy.

Maria loves that line and has mentioned it several times. She decided to make it into one of her popular refrigerator magnets, which sell for $7 each (free shipping) and are available only on her Etsy Page.

The magnets arrived yesterday, and I already have one attached to the side of my car along with her other magnets. People often pause to look at them and ask me about them.

They are two by 3 inches, cost $7, and shipping is free. You can see them and buy them here.

We all have the right to be happy; this song has become one of my favorite anthems. It has done me a lot of good. Sometimes, I need to be reminded. We all do, I think.

  1. I just read a book by Adam Gopnik about the pursuit of happiness. He begins by pointing out that the pursuit of happiness is in our Declaration of Independence as one of our rights as free people. Interestingly it is not likely to be found in the documents of other countries. James Madison and the other authors thought it was that important. Yes, Maria and John, you have the right to be happy and you make my days happier with this blog. Love you both!
