Two weeks ago, the Army of Good sent 25% of what the Pantry needs for its annual Thanksgiving Giveaway trimmings and mixes, more important than ever. Sarah and I have decided to take it one chunk at a time; we have some time to do it in pieces. So far, so good. All three requested items cost less than a dollar each.
Today, on a holiday, we are taking another look at the three most needed items (The Pantry is taking care of the turkeys) to support the giveaway.

I imagine anyone reading this knows how important Thanksgiving dinners are during these financially stressful times. These families have lost their favorite rituals and foods, even their homes. We did it last year, and I feel like we will do it again. Thank you.
Last Thanksgiving was a record. Most food pantries and food banks across the country reported record demand after the government shutdown and the lapse in food aid.
One New York State Pantry Director said they gained about 400 households in two weeks because of the SNAP pause. So far this year, there’s no benefit freeze, but the cuts are permanent rather than temporary.
