Kelly At The Bog

Kelly At The Bog

On Thursday nights, Kelly runs the bar and restaurant the the Bog, (Foggy  Bottom is it’s official name) a restaurant near our farm. It is a comfortable place to get a burger or dinner, Kelly navigates the bar and a dozen or so tables with grace and efficiency and courtesy. Her smile is never far away.

We go to the big once or twice a week, I have to admit I love it the best on cold and snowy winter nights when the wood stove is going and somebody is playing pool. Kelly is one of my favorite photographic subjects, she and the bog invoke the feeling of the old country tavern, filled with neighbors and oddballs and families.

Growing Taller: Dog And Cornfield

by Jon Katz
Growing Taller
Growing Taller

The puppy and the neighbor’s cornfield are both growing taller, and rapidly. Fate is starting to look like a young dog, she is growing taller and longer. The cornfield is shooting up as fast, I will take photos of both of them as they grow throughout the summer. Fate has grasped the concept of the photo shoot already, she is happy to pose for the camera.

Team Bedlam

Team Bedlam is formidable, two border collies bred in the British Isles with lots of instinct and moxie. Red is teaching Fate The Stare, essential to herding sheep. He is a good teacher, patient and clear, she is a good student, eager and observant. She is getting the stare down, once she is a big bigger, she can push the sheep around also.
