November 6, 2009 – Cloudy, cool. There seems to be a happy ending for the story of the ugly potholder. At least I thought it was ugly, pink and green not mixing well. It’s going to Colorado to a home that will love it. I love Maria’s potholders, and wrote that I didn’t think pink and green went well together, and was advised by Maria and a considerable segment of the Internet that I was talking out of my butt and had no taste. That could be true. Anyway, like many of Maria’s potholders, symbols to me of new and creative ways of selling art, this one is heading off of the farm and out into the world to make its own way, either as a decorative thing to hang on a wall, or a useful thing to use in the kitchen. Potholders inspire me.
