Dinner Menu. The Little Things

Lenore on the top with Rose, Izzy and Frieda (she had a growth removed from her back, nothing serious) were sitting underneath. A cozy group. I ran for the camera, which I should know now to bring.

When I first started “dating” Maria, I  told a supermarket cashier about her, and she reminded me to “always remember the little things and you’ll be all right.” So I do. I decided to make a special meal tonight, not sitting around the living room or on the porch, as we usually do, but something special.

So I borrowed beeswax candles from my friend Mary Muncil, who married us, and I drove to the Cambridge Co-Op. Here’s the menu (she doesn’t read my blog, generally, so it’s a surprise). Avocado, sliced. Fresh strawberries with cranberry goat cheese. Hand cut pasta – artichoke in a wheat pasta. Fresh mesculin salad with a light peanut dressing.  I told her to go out on the porch to read (she agreed) and I’ll clear the table and put out the candles, and then cookie. Dessert for her is a pecan nut brownie. And we have plenty of wine given us at the wedding. The little things.
