Portrait. Life of a sheep

I decided one of my weaknesses in photography is portraits. I’m too impatience for people and animals to reveal their inner silence, as Henri Cartier-Bresson used to say. To take a portrait, you just sit around, watch and wait. So I’m doing a Life Of A Sheep series, and I spent an hour up on the hill sitting next to them. Maria joined me and it was sweet. The donkeys came over, and then the sheep just settled in around us. Without Rose or too much moving around, they seemed to absorb us in the midst of their flock.

I don’t really love sheep, but I loved this one, and the way she gazed out at the valley below.
