Every morning, Maria and I go out and feed the donkeys. They gather around her, and the three of them exchange something, affection, grounding, I’m not sure. It is one of my favorite things, to see this. Because of Maria, the donkeys are staying, and I cannot imagine her living without them. They all bring out something in each other.
